EU HDG importers hope to be more clear on EU tariff measures - galvanized steel coil manufacturers

According to the report, European importers are currently handling customs clearance procedures for hot-dip galvanized products (HDG) classified as 4B under European safeguards, while they wait for questions. Tariffs become clearer.


Last week, these products carried out the latest import quotas and achieved quotas within a day.
Some market participants explained that raw materials have been completed customs procedures nearly 530,000 tons at European ports, this number is more than 200,000 tons available quotas. Therefore, estimated traders pay 6.25% tax rate for about 30-50 Euro / ton.

In addition, the European Commission may require tax deferral ports, because they need to check whether all imported products meet 4B’s classification requirements. They can also solve the problem by increasing import quotas.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had authorized the doubling of previously-imposed import tariffs on Turkish aluminum and steel to 20 percent and 50 percent Turkey told the World Trade Organization that it will impose steel import quotas starting from October 17, to shield Turkey's steel industry from a surge in imports. Turkey has been in conflict with the United States over trade issues since March, when Trump initially introduced the 10 and 25 percent duties on imports of aluminum and steel, respectively, from US trade partners, including Turkey.
